Could do better!

Thu 30th Apr 2015

The Ipswich 'Sackers' Witches will return from South Yorkshire with nothing to show for their efforts after losing 50-43 to the Sheffield 'Window Centre' Tigers.

Danny King was top scorer for Ipswich with 13+1 (incl. six point tactical ride with Nico Covatti signing off at reserve with 12+1. Craig Cook topped the Sheffield scorecard on 13 with new signing Jason Garrity scoring ten.

A disappointed Ipswich team manager, Phil Hilton, said afterwards: "Not good enough, certain riders are not riding as they should and this needs to be sorted out quickly so we can achieve the result I know we are capable of. We managed to keep quite close to them for the first seven heats but then they got away from us a bit. When Danny & Nico got the 8-1 in heat eleven we should have used that to get back in the meeting. Unfortunately Cam had clutch problems in heat twelve which caused him to fall when leading, turning a 5-1 to us to a shared heat. However we had three more chances to pull something back but it was not to be. Now we need to turn our attention to Monday and ensure that Sheffield are not allowed to take anything away from Foxhall. I will be having a team talk before the meeting to make it very clear what is required from everyone".
