Biography

King started his British career in 2001 with Peterborough’s National League side before spending his first season with the Witches in 2003 as a young reserve in the Elite League. He became British Under-18 champion in 2004 and spent four consecutive seasons in Suffolk before heading to Peterborough Panthers in 2007. He returned to Foxhall in 2009 for two seasons before a stint with Birmingham. In 2015, King became the spearhead of the Witches’ Premier League side and was appointed captain midway through the season. 2016 would prove to be the season of his career as he was crowned British champion at Belle Vue and went on to impress the world scoring seven points in the Grand Prix at Cardiff and also won a silver medal at the Speedway World Cup with Great Britain. In 2021 and 2022 Danny won the Championship title and Knockout Cup with Poole. In 2023 he captained the Witches to Knockout Cup glory. 2024 is his fifteenth season with Ipswich.
