WITCHES BOSS HURRY SEEKS FIGHTBACK AGAINST THE ACES

Ipswich Tru7 Group Witches team manager Paul Hurry is calling on his side to regroup as they tackle Rowe Motor Oil Premiership leaders Belle Vue at Foxhall on Thursday.

The Witches were humbled 62-28 away to the Aces on Monday, but head home determined to overturn a 51-39 deficit from their first visit to Manchester on April 20 to claim a bonus point that is still very much up for grabs.

Belle Vue brings world No.2 Brady Kurtz to Foxhall and hopes to track former Witches favourite Jason Doyle, who is battling for fitness following a heavy crash in the DEWALT FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Wroclaw last Saturday.

The Witches are at full strength and Hurry is expecting a reaction from his side following a night to forget at the National Speedway Stadium.

He said: “We need to sit down and work things out and have a chat with the boys. We’ve had a heavy defeat. We need to regroup, put this one to bed and get on with Thursday. But let it be a warning.

“I will be talking to a few of them. I don’t like to make a song and dance. They have tried their best, and you can see it in their riding. But there is just something missing. We just have to keep being confident and ride to the best of our ability at home and sort things out on the road.

“There are no excuses. They have had five home meetings now, so they should be up to full speed with the setup at Foxhall.

“The most frustrating thing is we know they are capable of it. We don’t expect them to go to Manchester and win. But we do expect them to put on a better show, so that we can at least claw something back at home. They need to ride how they can ride and how they are capable of riding. Hopefully we will see that in Thursday’s meeting.”

Advance tickets are available online HERE now, with cash accepted at turnstiles. Card payments are available at the entrance to the right, where online tickets can be scanned.

For those unable to join us at Foxhall, racing will also be streamed live on the British Speedway Network. CLICK HERE for more info.
