Danish racer Kevin Juhl Pedersen joins Ipswich for the rest of the 2026 season following promising guest appearances for the Tru7 Group Witches last week.
Juhl Pedersen, who lines up at No.6 as the Witches head to Leicester on Monday night, made his British debut with Cab Direct Championship side Glasgow this season and was handed his first Rowe Motor Oil Premiership appearance at Northampton on Monday, scoring a match-winning six paid seven points as the Witches beat the Foxes 46-44.
The 24-year-old scored two points away to King’s Lynn on Thursday night, and once again showed his potential, leading Speedway GP rider Max Fricke for two and a half laps in his second ride.
Juhl Pedersen, who finished sixth in the 2022 FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship (SGP2) comes into the Witches side in place of Swedish star Philip Hellstrom-Bangs, who is set to seek a move into the Cab Direct Championship with a view to returning to Foxhall in 2027.
Witches chairman Richard Coleman said: “Firstly, I would like to place on record my thanks to Philip for his efforts and wish him well for the rest of the season. There’s every chance we will see him back next year if he can get back to his best in the Championship.
“With Kevin showing real promise in our meetings last week, we are pleased to give him an opportunity to show what he can do in the Premiership for the rest of the season.
“He’s really hungry to test himself at this level; he is making good starts, he’s aggressive in the first corner, and he’s clearly not afraid of battling the big names in this league.
“Kevin fitted into the team really well this week, listening to advice, asking questions and already looks at home with the Witches. We can’t wait to see what the rest of 2026 brings for him.”
Following his first appearance as a full-time Ipswich rider away to Leicester on Monday, Juhl Pedersen takes his first outing at Foxhall when the Lions visit on Thursday night.
