Jason Edwards will continue as the Ipswich ‘Tru7 Group’ Witches Rising Star for the remainder of the 2025 season.
Edwards came in as a 28-day injury replacement for Jordan Jenkins in mid-July after Jenkins sustained a significant tear to the MCL in his left knee, along with a sprain to his ACL with bruising and bleeding to both the tibia and femur in a crash at Belle Vue.
Jenkins returned to racing in the Championship with Oxford in August but suffered a further crash towards the end of the month where he ended the evening in hospital with bad chest pains, reduced air entry in his left lung and low oxygen saturation levels.
Team manager Ritchie Hawkins explained the situation.
“Jason will be carrying on for the rest of the season, he has done very well since coming in and fits in very well and I’m happy to have him with us. It is a big shame to lose Jordan after picking up another injury at Oxford and he needs time off the bike and time to recover to get himself fit. As it turns out we didn’t need to make a decision, but we are delighted to have Jason in the side.”
We wish Jordan all the best in his recovery and look forward to seeing him at Foxhall soon.
