Belle Vue Aces boss Mark Lemon has confirmed that former Ipswich Tru7 Group Witches star Jason Doyle will not be fit to compete in the sides’ Rowe Motor Oil Premiership match in Manchester on Monday.
One of the heroes of Witches’ 2025 title triumph, Doyle crashed out of the DEWALT FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Wroclaw on Saturday after tangling with Jack Holder and Kacper Woryna going into turn one in heat seven.
While Lemon confirms Doyle suffered no broken bones in the incident, he was left battered and bruised, forcing him out of the clash against his old side.
The Aces are assessing their options as they consider either tracking a guest or using rider replacement, which would allow all of his teammates to cover his rides. The Witches head to the National Speedway Stadium at full strength.
Lemon said: “Doyle is badly beaten up after the crash. I spoke to him on Sunday morning and it was a relief to discover there are no fractures, because we were all concerned especially after previous injuries, but he needs rest before we assess when he can return.”
Everyone involved with the Witches wishes Jason a speedy recovery, along with Sheffield star Holder, who is due to undergo surgery on a broken arm sustained in the Wroclaw event.
Following their trip to Manchester, the Witches are next in action on Thursday, when the Aces head for Foxhall. Just over 24 hours before that meeting, Ipswich chairman Richard Coleman will be making an exciting announcement about the future of the club in The Diner at Foxhall on Wednesday at 7pm.
