Ipswich fans can enjoy six extra heats of action at the Tru7 Group Witches’ 75th anniversary celebration on Thursday as the bikes of yesteryear get sideways in a vintage second half.
Witches’ Rowe Motor Oil Premiership clash with Leicester may be the main event, but the club has an evening of entertainment in store to mark 75 years of racing at Foxhall.
With a host of Witches legends in attendance, a superb display of club race jackets over the years and an exhibition of vintage bikes, fans should aim to arrive early, with gates opening at 6pm – or 5.45pm for season ticket holders.
The night will end with a Blast from the Past as a fleet of speedway’s most famous machines take to the track for an unmissable second half. The bikes in action include a JAP, Westlake and an Antig Westlake, Goddens, a two-valve Jawa, a Jawa 897 and 898, a Jawa DT500 and a GM upright.
There will be a couple of familiar faces in the field as Witches team manager Paul Hurry lines up on a Godden, while Ipswich rising star Jason Edwards rides a Jawa DT500.
Enjoy the sights, sounds and scents of yesteryear, and win a piece of memorabilia. A race jacket will be signed by both teams and will be raffled during the evening, with all proceeds going to Help for Heroes – the UK armed forces and military veterans charity.
Advance tickets for Witches’ 75-year celebration against Leicester are available online HERE now, with cash accepted at turnstiles on race day and credit card payments available at the entrance to the right.
Those who can’t make it to Foxhall can follow the racing live on WitchesTV HERE.
