The ‘Tru Mix’ Witches have been confirmed as Premiership Pairs winners after the cancellation of the sixth and final round at Leicester on Monday.
The Suffolk side were 12 points clear of Belle Vue following Round 5 at the National Speedway Stadium last week, having won meetings at Foxhall, King’s Lynn and Wolverhampton earlier this summer.
Unfortunately, the weather intervened on several occasions with the round initially planned for Sheffield, which was subsequently moved to Leicester due to stadium availability issues at Owlerton.
Ipswich therefore take the title having been represented throughout the series by Jason Doyle, who was joined by Danny King, Troy Batchelor and Erik Riss, with Danyon Hume and Anders Rowe as Rising Stars.
Promoter Chris Louis said: “After starting with a fifth place in the first round, to go three unbeaten and a second place in the next four, I think it would be hard for anybody to argue that we don’t deserve to win the competition.
“We have used a bit of a squad, obviously Jason has been the mainstay of that and scored a lot of the points, but he’s been backed up by Danny, Troy, Erik and the reserves.
“It’s been a good team effort and the lads fully deserve some silverware.”
