WITCHES FACE FINAL LEAGUE FIXTURE

Posted on

15 September, 2016

The ‘Tru7.com’ Witches complete their league schedule on Sunday as they take on the Newcastle Diamonds (6.30pm).

The Witches confirmed their spot in the Premier League Play-Offs with a win over the Diamonds on Thursday at Foxhall. The hosts have also already secured their spot in the top six as they lie third in the table.

The two sides met in Suffolk on Thursday with the home side coming out 52-41 winners in an entertaining affair. Buxton’s Shelby Rutherford comes in at number seven for the Witches for the injured Danyon Hume.

The home side welcome back Robert Lambert into the side at number five after he missed the fixture between the two sides on Thursday.

The last time the two sides met on Newcastle shale the home side came out 48-43 winners in last season’s Premier League.

Team Manager Ritchie Hawkins says there is no pressure on the meeting for his side with focus now on the play-offs.

“I’ve been piling the pressure on the boys every meeting for two months and it will be lovely to go there Sunday and just let the boys race and ride their bikes,” said Hawkins.

“Our main focus is now on Edinburgh next week at Foxhall really and putting in another performance like we have done for the past half a dozen meetings. We’ve been brilliant and we’ve got to carry that on.”
