Chris and John Louis along with everyone at Ipswich Speedway have been rocked by the tragic news of the passing of Lawrence Bloomfield this morning in Australia where he had been living.
A family friend of the Louis family, Lawrie had been bravely battling an inoperable brain tumour for some time, he was 54. Lawrie took up speedway and rode locally for both the Witches and Arena Essex after his father John had been beside John Louis as his mechanic for most of his career.
We would like to send our condolences to Lawrie’s parents Kathy and John and sister Sharon, along with all of Lawrie’s many friends both here in the UK and Australia at this very difficult time. It Is hoped that a gathering will be arranged in the near future for those that wish to share their memories of Lawrie and we will notify everyone as soon as this has been arranged.
