The Ipswich ‘Tru7 Group’ Witches’ ROWE Motor Oil Premiership fixture away at Sheffield on Thursday 28th August has been postponed.

Heavy rain fell pre-meeting and despite the best efforts of track staff to get the surface fit for racing, the referee decided to postpone the fixture.

Team manager Ritchie Hawkins explained the timeline of events.

“Really unfortunate the meeting had to be called off tonight. We had a big heavy shower around 6pm and the track staff at Sheffield worked commendably to get the track back and I would say 80% of it was raceable. Unfortunately the main two areas where the track was at its worst was entering the bends which is just where you don’t want it to be. The referee and the riders didn’t feel there was enough time to get that fixed. Everyone is massively disappointed and no one wants to call the meeting off that late with a good crowd in and from our point of view it was unfortunate but the correct thing to do.”
